Rowboat Media Hosting
We’ve decided to simplify things and offer our own hosting service to WebMistress subscribers, rather than just endlessly make hosting company recommendations! This makes it easier for us to support you via our WebMistress Service, and guarantees that your new site launches go faster and smoother.
We’re not a hosting company for the world – just for our actual design clients. You each get your own Control Panel – which as you know, is a huge philosophy here at Rowboat Media. We’re here to help our clients, not control them.
What this means is that you get the benefit of faster servers than those available through a standard shared hosting account, and don’t have to pay a monthly hosting bill.
Exclusions:
If you have a WordPress site that you’ve been blogging on for a while, you may not want to move it – that’s just fine – you can still be a WebMistress subscriber and stay with your existing host. Also, large amounts of legacy content require a database move, which means we have to do extra voodoo, and that could involve live chickens. Let us know if you’re interested in doing this and we’ll take a look at what’s involved for your individual situation.
We do not provide hosting or support for non-Rowboat Media clients, or clients who are not subscribed to the WebMistress Service.
What if I want to change hosts or cancel the WebMistress Service?
We’ve all felt stuck with a webhost because it was just too scary or too much of a hassle to change.
Because we’re all about the non-scary and hassle-free experience, we’ll actually pay any support charges to set you up with your own, independent HostGator hosting account within 30 days of your notification that you wish to cancel with us. The process will be seamless, after you provide us with the login information for your new account.
If you choose to leave us and go with a host that isn’t HostGator, then know that you have 30 days to have the new company grab your stuff and move it before your site goes down. We’ll also be happy to give that company all the access they need to do their job, with your authorization – but we don’t provide in-house support for those moves – you’re on your own there in working with your new hosting company.
